Lahaina Gateway celebrating Halloween with films

On Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Local Motion will show Globe’s “Year Zero” (pictured) and Transworld Surf’s “Surprise Excitement Party” outside at Lahaina Gateway.

LAHAINA – Visit Lahaina Gateway for its “Pineapples & Pumpkins” Celebration featuring special store sales and tasty fall dining throughout the center.

On Friday, Oct. 28, the center will host “Date Night Out” for teens and adults with gourmet tastings, surf films and a Halloween Hat Contest.

From 4 to 6 p.m., Foodland Farms will offer Haliimaile Pineapple Company’s Maui Gold Pineapple

and gourmet food samplings from R. Fields.

From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Local Motion will show two outdoor surf movies: Globe’s “Year Zero” and Transworld Surf’s “Surprise Excitement Party” (intended for adult/teen audiences).

The Halloween Hat Contest at 7:30 p.m. for ages 13 and older will feature prizes for most original, scariest, artsy, surfer, pineapple or pumpkin theme. Prizes include Lahaina Gateway gift cards, Maui Gold pineapples and Kula pumpkins.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, “Keiki Night Out” will feature trick-or-treating for children ages 12 and under from 4:30 to 6 p.m. throughout the center.

From 6 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy an outdoor movie and new Disney Halloween film, along with keiki treats and giveaways.

Outdoor movies are shown at the “mini-theater” by the Hula Girl fountain patio area. Get all the information on posters displayed throughout the center or www.lahainagateway.com.

Movie seating is provided for 100 on a first-come, first-served basis. Beach chairs are fine; no coolers or outside food.

Lahaina Gateway merchant specials and events include Genki Sushi’s Halloween “Genki Goblins” in-store coupons on Oct. 27-31.

At Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, wear a Halloween costume and get 15 percent off your order on Oct. 28-31. Try the new Jaloween Burger and visit the restaurant for movie night specials.

And on Oct. 31 at 4 p.m., Barnes & Noble will hold a keiki costume contest with prizes.

The center is located at Honoapiilani Highway and Keawe Street with free parking and easy access to all stores.
