Quickbooks classes to be offered in Lahaina

Laura Boes will teach “Introduction to Quickbooks Pro” and “Quickbooks Inventory” at the Lahaina Education Center.
LAHAINA – Lahaina resident Laura Boes will return to the University of Hawaii Maui College’s Lahaina Education Center to offer her popular “Introduction to Quickbooks Pro” class.
Boes will also teach a new add-on called “Quickbooks Inventory.”
“Introduction to Quickbooks” will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on three consecutive Thursdays from Oct. 27 through Nov. 10. The course is designed for new users and geared to help attendees computerize the accounting records of a service-oriented sole proprietorship without the components of inventory or payroll.
Learn to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices, write checks, reconcile bank statements and produce balance sheets, income statements and other key financial reports based on Intuit’s QuickBooks software.
Students should have successfully completed “Introduction to Windows” or have equivalent experience. Familiarity with basic bookkeeping principles is highly recommended. The cost for these three sessions is $169
“Quickbooks Inventory” has been widely requested. The class is geared to those who are already using Quickbooks or who have taken the introductory course.
Set for Thursday, Nov. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., this course will focus on tracking the cost of goods sold, monitoring income received from resale of inventory items, tracking of both parts and finished goods and reconciliation of physical inventory. Previous Quickbooks experience is a prerequisite.
The cost for the Inventory session is $49.
