Meeting to explore future of film industry in Maui County

By Staff | Sep 22, 2011

WAILUKU — Maui County is putting the call out for all producers, directors, casting agents, location managers, camera operators, actors, extras and anyone else involved in our islands’ film industry.

Harry Donenfeld, head of the Maui County Film Office, will hold an open meeting at Kahului Community Center on Monday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m.

Attendees will discuss the future of the film industry in Maui County and gather more information on the types of services, equipment and talent available for film productions here.

“Maui has had a lot of press lately about being a great location for filming, and we’ve been getting a lot of inquiries,” Donenfeld said. “We need to gather everyone together in one spot and get an idea of what we have that’s available for these productions.”

Those who cannot make it to the meeting are asked to send information about their production services to harry.donenfeld@mauicounty.gov. For information, call Donenfeld at 270-8237.
