Roy’s Restaurant to open at Kaanapali Golf Courses

KAANAPALI — Kaanapali Golf Courses, managed by Billy Casper Golf, announced that award-winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi is scheduled to open Roy’s Restaurant at the golf course clubhouse in December 2011.
Roy’s Restaurants conducted an island-wide search for a location and selected Kaanapali Golf Courses’ clubhouse.
The restaurant will occupy approximately 5,000 square feet, and the menu will feature many of Yamaguchi’s famed dishes, including the Hawaiian Style Misoyaki Butterfish and Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé.
Based on childhood memories of the feelings and flavors of Hawaii, Yamaguchi invented what he calls “Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine” — a tempting combination of exotic flavors and spices mixed with fresh local ingredients and seafood.
“We couldn’t be more excited about our new Maui location,” said Yamaguchi.
“We think the clubhouse at the Kaanapali Golf Courses is a perfect fit for us, and we look forward to continuing to serve the West Maui community and visitors for years to come.”
Roy’s Restaurant will be open to the public, catering to Kaanapali golfers, resort guests, island residents and private parties.
“The entire Roy’s Restaurant experience is in sync with both golf and social experiences at Kaanapali,” said Ed Kageyama, PGA general manager of Kaanapali Golf Courses.
“We are very excited about the new partnership with Roy and his team; they bring a great reputation and following.”
