LAHAINA — Deborah Murphy is celebrating a year in business selling a luxurious bath experience.

Her Tub & Scrub Bath Salt Co. is a specialty boutique in Lahaina that sells premium Pacific sea salts made with Vitamin E and aloe vera, salt scrubs, handmade soaps, bath fizzers and more.

Her popular store is located at 819 Front St. in the Old Poi Factory next to Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Murphy — who spends half of the year operating her business just south of Portland, Oregon — said, “Some of our customers spend hours sifting through the barrels, which contain empty bottles of all shapes and sizes that they can fill with their favorite bath salt.

“We sell a luxury experience. We only use high-quality essential and fragrant oil blends in our products. I’m excited by my newest scent: bamboo and yuzu fruit.”

Tub & Scrub Bath Salt customers are greeted by scents of Maui ocean breeze as they dig through 50-pound barrels of 27 different scents of the Pacific sea salts.

Shop visitors choose from a variety of bottle shapes, from glass to plastic containers or one-pound bags. Visitors can also create their own unique scents by combining salts.

Bath scents include coconut, pineapple, vanilla, lavender and rose, as well as unique offerings like exotic rainforest, Maui ocean breeze and cool citrus basil.

There are nine varieties of bath fizzers that are handmade with Hawaiian sea salt, sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil and other essential oils.

There are also all natural shea butter salt scrubs and handmade, all natural soaps that are made on the island by a company employee.

Murphy started Tub & Scrub Bath Salt Co. after learning about the benefits of Pacific sea salt. Some of her soaps and essential oils are sourced from Oregon, where she operates the business from a home office in Lake Oswego.

The longtime business owner, who has been in the fleet washing industry for more than two decades, said she has found her true passion in this one-year-old business.
