WAILUKU — The Board of Directors of Lokahi Pacific has named Susie Thieman as the interim executive director for the organization.

Thieman has over 30 years of for-profit business experience, including starting, managing and selling her own business.

Her nonprofit experience includes more than 35 years of volunteer board service to various organizations, including 17 years with the Oahu Private Industry Council.

Thieman served as CEO for the nonprofit MEO Business Development Corporation for the past seven years.

Lokahi Pacific’s Mission is to improve the quality of life, both economically and socially, of residents of the County of Maui and other rural Hawaii communities.

With goal-oriented vision and broad collaboration, Lokahi Pacific noted that it “develops sensible and successful projects that enrich the economic climate of the county, increase the inventory of affordable and special needs housing and ensure that residents participate in that enrichment and share in its benefits.”

Lokahi Pacific’s community development experience falls into three basic areas: housing development and management, small business lending and community facilities development.
