Nine Rotary Clubs join forces to provide school supplies for Maui children
For the fifth consecutive year, members of all Rotary Clubs on Maui manned doors at local businesses to collect school supplies and donations for the children of Maui.
Forty-five boxes of supplies and $3,500 in cash donations were collected.
Each Maui Rotary Club determined the recipients of the supplies and cash donations.
In addition to Maui schools, monetary donations were distributed to Keiki Kupboard at five schools, Kihei Youth Center and the Homeless Resource Center in Wailuku.
The Rotary Clubs of Maui would like to thank these businesses for allowing members to accept donations: Safeway-Kihei, Foodland-Kahului, Walgreen’s-Lahaina, Walmart, Office Max (both locations) and Longs Drugs in Kihei, Lahaina and Upcountry.
Rotarians would also like to recognize the generous contributions of each and every person who donated supplies and cash.
This island-wide School Supplies Drive is one of the many community service projects sponsored by the Rotary Clubs on Maui. The nine clubs on Maui are part of Rotary International’s global network of more than 32,000 clubs worldwide.
Rotary International consists of 1.2 million professional men and women who, as civic leaders, volunteer to improve the quality of life in their home and world communities.
