LeRu Atelier opens new boutique in The Shops at 505
LAHAINA — Larissa Williams, Hawaii’s latest fashion designer from Los Angeles, opened a new boutique in The Shops at 505 on July 20.
LeRu Atelier is located upstairs in the center, right next door to Hula Gypsy Vintage Boutique.
Williams’ styling and design career in Hollywood spanned ten years. While in L.A., she was represented by Margaret Maldonado Agency, the premier styling agency in Hollywood.
Her early styling years saw Williams assisting Simone Harouche on print, commercial and performance work around the world with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Lopez.
Williams’ most recent solo styling work before relocating to Maui was a video for Grammy Award winner Michelle Branch and a website for the MGM Grand Casino Skylofts, MGM’s most luxurious penthouse suites.
While working her way up the styling ranks, Williams has always been refining her own designs. Celebrities and rockers such as Nicole Richie, Cyrus, Gwen Stefani and Steven Tyler have worn her custom styles.
The new LeRu Atelier is twice as big as her first retail store, which opened in February 2011 at 505 Front Street but proved to be too small.
The new space sports a full design studio in addition to the boutique. Williams plans to open a second store in Paia before looking to the other islands.
