Maui Fire Department announces promotions

WAILUKU — Maui Fire Department recently promoted one firefighter to captain, one firefighter to the rank of Firefighter 3 and five firefighters to Firefighter 2.
Roger Agdeppa, who has been with the department for 18 years and was previously assigned to the Lahaina station, was promoted to captain. He is also the department’s program director/instructor for Fire Ground Survival and the Rapid Intervention Team.
Jim Knutson was promoted to Firefighter 3. He has been with department for 11 years and was previously assigned to the Paia and Kahului stations as a Firefighter 2 for the past six years. He will be stationed at Hoolehua Fire Station on Molokai
The following firefighters have been promoted to Firefighter 2. They will all be assigned to Hazmat 10 in Kahului.
Danny Laferriere has been with the department for eight years and was previously assigned to the Kihei and Lahaina stations.
Kaleo Kealoha has been with the department for nine years and was previously assigned to the Wailea station.
Ray Watanabe has been with the department for nine years and was previously assigned to the Wailea and Kahului stations.
Richard “Alika” Apana has been with the department for six years and was previously assigned to the Wailea and Kahului stations.
Modesto Jacinto Jr. been with the department for six years and was previously assigned to the Makawao, Wailea and most recently the Kahului stations.
