County offers business workshops

KAHULUI — Free business workshops are held at the Maui County Business Resource Center in Maui Mall.

Karen S. Arakawa of the county Office of Economic Development will lead “Starting a business in Maui County” on Friday, Aug. 26, from noon to 1 p.m.

This informative workshop covers general information and requirements for starting a business in Maui County.

“Talk Story About Starting a Nonprofit” with Stuart Funke-d’Egnuff will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from noon to 1 p.m.

Get the details on how to set up a nonprofit, and find out the real reasons why people want to develop this type of business entity.

“The Top 3 Mistakes to Avoid in Online Marketing” by Julie Migneault is set for Wednesday, Aug. 31, from noon to 1 p.m.

Do you understand the importance of having an online presence, but don’t know where to begin? Have you taken steps to market your business online with little return on investment?

Come and learn how to move through roadblocks and create a successful online strategy for your business.

“QuickBooks for Small Business” with Richard Kehoe is slated for Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee for this class is $45.

Learn to set up your company’s QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring.

This class for new users will teach you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices and balance your checkbook.
