County offers free business workshops
KAHULUI — The Maui County Business Resource Center in Maui Mall hosts free workshops.
“Doing Business With the Government as a Subcontractor” is set for Tuesday, July 26, from noon to 1 p.m.
Every product or service acquired by the government is done through a bidding process.
Evette Lau of MEO will lead this instructional workshop and introduce participants to the process of successful government contracting with information on registration and technical assistance.
This class is geared toward small businesses interested in federal, state and local procurement.
“Marketing & Sales Strategies to Improve Your Business” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 28.

Instructor Fred Rickert is a senior business consultant with the Hawaii Small Business Development Center-Maui, a program of the University of Hawaii to assist small businesses in developing entrepreneurial skills.
“QuickBooks for Small Business” with Richard Kehoe is set for Thursday, July 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee for this class is $45.
Learn to set up your company’s QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring.
This class for new users will teach you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices and balance your checkbook.
