KAANAPALI — Maggie Coulombe, one of Hawaii’s premier couture fashion designers, opened her second Maui studio at Whalers Village over the Fourth of July weekend.
Coulombe’s original studio is located at 505 Front Street in Lahaina.
The new studio is located on Whalers Village’s main level next to Swarovski and near the beach entrance.
A Toronto native, Coulombe is known for her eclectic style and ability to create one-size-fits-all dresses as if tailored to each customer.
Her designs often feature transitional fabrics, including silk, cashmere and linen.
Over the years, Coulombe has dressed celebrities on and off the red carpet. Among them are Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher and Lindsey Lohan.
Coulombe’s designs have been featured in Elle, InStyle, Glitter Japan, Glamorous Japan, Lid, Modern Luxury, US Weekly and Lifestyle.
Coulombe studied fashion apparel design at Ryerson University in Toronto and graduated with the “Designer of the Year Award” in 1990.
In 1995, she fell in love with Maui restaurateur Louise Coulombe — partner and owner of Pacific’o, I’o, Feast at Lele and O’o Farm — and relocated to Maui.
