Lifestyle Maui offers direct factory prices

WAILUKU — With inventory changing each week, Lifestyle Maui wants to be different than other furniture stores on the island.

“We wanted to have a retail furniture store with different merchandise than the existing stores on Maui. We wanted to offer our customers excellent styling in transitional, contemporary and tropical furniture that is in stock on Maui, ready for delivery with direct factory prices and very good quality,” said co-owner Steven Tatik.

Founded in June 2006, Lifestyle Maui grew from a conceptual idea from Tatik’s wife, Amy, based on the needs of Maui consumers.

A Maui visitor for more than 17 years, Amy felt the furniture sold on Maui was sparse in selection, overpriced and limited in stock availability.

The business melds Steven’s 25 years of furniture experience in manufacturing, distributing and retailing with Amy’s insight, vision and decorating ability.

With the slogan “Maui’s Unique New Furniture Store,” Lifestyle Maui offers good quality furniture at reasonable prices and immediate delivery and set up, Steve said.

“In difficult economic times, Lifestyle Maui continues to sell and promote furniture at the best prices on Maui, giving the opportunity to everyone to have a beautiful, comfortable home,” he commented.

The store stocks bedroom collections, living room furniture, dining sets, entertainment centers, rugs and much more.

“Most of our furniture is specially made for us with our specifications by private label manufacturers. We are also a Tommy Bahama, Lexington authorized dealer on Maui,” he explained.

“We also do many special orders that fit our customer’s need if they do find exactly what they are looking for in our showrooms.”

Inventory changes weekly and monthly at the 703 Lower Main St. store.

“Amy and I travel overseas and to the Mainland to attend different furniture shows and factories to find the perfect items for our stores on Maui,” he noted.

“Customers are looking for good quality with reasonable prices combined with excellent customer service. Customers love our new and fresh looks in dining rooms, bedrooms, living rooms and entertainment centers. Every week, we are receiving new merchandise, so the showroom is also different and exciting.”

Lifestyle Maui will continue to import a whole new line of furniture within the next couple of months. Check the store’s website at www.lifestylemaui.com for new arrivals.

Lifestyle Maui offers factory direct pricing. Eighty-five percent of the store’s merchandise arrives by container direct from the factories around the world.

“We don’t inflate our prices like other stores and bargain for a sale. Most customers are surprised on just how good our prices are and how flexible our sale conditions are,” Steven said.

With 12-month no interest financing, customers can have their furniture delivered immediately, then pay it off within one year interest-free. (Financing approval is required by Wells Fargo Financial.)

“You do have to make minimum payments every month, but there is no prepayment fee. Therefore, you can pay it off whenever you want within the year — or after — but there is interest charged to your account if you go over a year,” Steven explained.

Lifestyle Maui donates to many nonprofit organizations on the island, including Hale Kau Kau, private and public schools and Women Helping Woman. The store is one of the biggest donators of furniture to Habitat for Humanity.

Steven also serves as president of the board of directors for Hale O Lanakila Clubhouse at 1977 Main St. in Wailuku. The state Department of Health Program operated through the Maui Community Mental Health Center helps mentally challenged members — referred from state mental health programs — transition back to the community as productive citizens.

“We really do great work,” he added.

Lifestyle Maui delivers all of its furniture with its own truck and professionally trained delivery men. Delivery and set up are offered free of charge.

“The sale is not over until the customer receives their furniture and are very happy and satisfied with their purchase,” he commented.

“Sixty to 80 percent of our business is repeat business or referrals, because our previous customers were so satisfied and delighted with our service.”

The company employs more than 13 people between its two showrooms: Lifestyle Maui and Sofas & More at 425 Koloa St., Unit 105, in Kahului.

Between the two stores, they have almost 10,000 square feet of showroom space and over 10,000 square feet of warehouse space.

With zero customer complains, the company has an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau. Customers are treated with the aloha spirit.
