Minit Stop launches benefit for Project Graduation
Minit Stop stores will launch their second annual “Safe and Sane Project Grad 2011” program on April 1.
Through April 30, all eight Minit Stop stores on Maui will display specially labeled 2011 Project Grad coin cans at the counter. Customers are encouraged to drop in their loose change for a great cause.
Those who make $1 donations will get their names added on a “graduate cap” posted at the store.
Minit Stop has also worked out an agreement to donate ten cents for every bottle of Snapple tea and juice sold through April 30.
All funds collected will go toward supporting 2011 Project Graduation night activities at participating Maui public and private high schools.
Held across the country, Project Graduation events are coordinated by high schools, parents and communities to provide safe and memorable celebrations on graduation night.
The all-night celebrations help prevent teenage deaths caused by drinking and driving on graduation night.
Minit Stop will also invite participating high schools to fund-raise at a Minit Stop store. For information, contact Yuki Lei Sugimura at 878-1888 or yuki@connecmaui.com by March 31.
