Turnbull Fine Art to hold grand opening
PAIA — Turnbull Fine Art, a contemporary art gallery featuring a mix of sculptures, paintings and jewelry, will hold a grand opening celebration at the Shops of Paia on Friday, March 25, at 6 p.m.
The event will feature pupus, refreshments and performance art by the Yoga Union Troupe.
The opening exhibition showcases sculptures by gallery owners Christine and Steve Turnbull, as well as paintings from Maui artists George Eguchi, Jaisy Hanlon, Julie Houck, Ken Kennell, Lori Kaprowski, Lisa Kasprzycki, Kirk Kurokawa, Charlie Lyon, Thomas Peters and Spar Street.
In addition, the gallery features Maui jewelry artists Cathleen Bunt, Luana Coonen, Carol Schwarz and Shelly King.
“With our passion for art and our love of Paia and its culture, it seems like a natural step to open a gallery here,” said Gallery Director Christine Turnbull.
“We’ve had much success with Turnbull Studios and Sculpture Garden in Kahakuloa for over ten years and plan to continue our business. We’ve wanted, for years, to offer clients and the general public another venue to view our sculptures and the contemporary work of other Maui artists,” she continued.
“We feel that Paia, with its cool vibe and energy, is the perfect spot to showcase this type of artwork. We’re excited to share with this community the beautiful collection our gallery offers.”
