LAHAINA — The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise recently presented its 2010 “Service Above Self” Award to Old Lahaina Luau.
“This meaningful annual recognition is given to business or community members in West Maui who exemplify Rotary International’s theme of unselfish giving and sharing,” said club President Ann Neizman.
“We are so proud to be honoring Old Lahaina Luau for living their core beliefs and values, as well as their strong, ongoing support to our community.”
By infusing the philosophy and spirit of aloha, ho’okipa (hospitality) and po’okela (commitment to excellence) through their entire organization, that commitment generates a natural spill over into the community, the club noted.
Old Lahaina Luau supports many causes, including as the Lahaina Complex Tutor Program, Lahaina Plantation Days and Rotary’s annual school supply drive.
“Our sincere congratulations to the entire Old Lahaina Luau organization and staff for earning this prestigious award,” the club concluded.
