Maui Prep to host estate planning panel of experts

NAPILI — Maui Preparatory Academy invites community members to join the school ‘ohana on Tuesday, March 1, at 5:30 p.m. in the school’s dining hall for a workshop on estate planning, charitable trusts and insurance strategies.
A panel of experts will discuss ways that individuals can maximize estate distribution to their heirs and their favorite causes, tax mitigation, retirement income and asset protection/replacement.
Learn how you can begin receiving income today from your gifted assets and receive sizable charitable deductions as well.
Although the issues are complex, they will be addressed in language that is understandable to event participants. The program will include plenty of time for audience questions. Refreshments will be served.
Panelists include Elizabeth Ivey, an attorney with expertise in estate and tax planning; Richard Nefzer, western regional vice president for life insurance sales with Genworth Financial Inc. and an advanced markets specialist; and Ginger Gannon, Maui philanthropic services officer for the Hawaii Community Foundation, who will share the nonprofit perspective.
The panel will be moderated by Janis Casco, a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Wealth Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter.
