KAPALUA — Industry veteran Ian McPhee has been promoted to hotel manager of the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.

Bringing nearly 30 years of extensive industry experience to the role, McPhee will continue to lead the resort’s Food & Beverage division — including its six restaurants — in addition to Culinary, Meetings & Special Events, Spa, Retail and Rooms now under his guidance.

“We are thrilled to have Ian’s leadership as hotel manager,” stated Tom Donovan, vice president and general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.

“He has developed an esteemed reputation amongst peers and guests due to his wealth of experience and exceptional understanding of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s philosophy.”

Over the course of 14 years with the brand, McPhee has held various leadership positions across the globe, beginning with banquets in Boston, then at the helm of operations and food and beverage divisions in Washington, D.C.; Georgetown; San Francisco; Osaka, Japan; and then Maui, where he has worked for the past year-and-a-half.

Hailing from Nassau, Bahamas, McPhee earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Education from Rhode Island’s Johnson & Wales University.
