LAHAINA — A group of young ladies from The Boys and Girls Clubs of Maui’s West Maui Clubhouse were recently invited to tour Sumthing, A Unique Boutique in Kahului.

The excursion was part of the Career Launch program run by Teen Director Danae Marin.

Club members were introduced to local business owner Lei Lee, who she shared her business experiences and the concept of giving back to the community through her company.

The students learned about the many values of consignment shopping in the retail industry and talked about age-appropriate dress etiquette.

They were thrilled to find out the trip included a special shopping spree of clothing and books for everyone.

“Our sincere appreciation goes out to Aunty Lei for her time, generous donations to our club members and continued support and partnership,” Marin noted.

The West Maui clubhouse currently serves more than 500 youths a year with the mission to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Career Launch is a program that exposes youth members to a variety of career options through guest speakers and field trips.
