NAPILI — Napili Kai Beach Resort celebrated its 50th anniversary on Sept. 15 with a variety of special activities.

Rev. Laki Kaahumanu walked the ten-acre property by Napili Bay, conducted a Hawaiian blessing, visited with resort guests at the Beach Cabana and chanted a prayer, then blessed the resort employees at a “Mahalo Luncheon” served by management staff.

All resort guests arriving that day received a special lei made of local ti leaves handmade by the children of the Napili Kai Foundation.

Letters of congratulation and commendation were received from Maui Mayor Charmaine Tavares and U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye.

Gov. Linda Lingle issued a proclamation declaring the date “Napili Kai Beach Resort Day” and commending the resort for providing a memorable Hawaii experience for visitors, and being a caring community leader on Maui.

In honor of its 50th anniversary, Napili Kai is offering an online contest to win a week-long trip for two to the resort.

The contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents who are at least 21 years of age.

No purchase is necessary, and the entry form, eligibility, rules and other details are available at www.NapiliKai.com.

The entry deadline is Dec. 31, 2010.
