Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts managing Lahaina Inn
LAHAINA — Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts (HH&R), which owns and operates the Royal Lahaina Resort and Royal Kona Resort, began managing the historic Lahaina Inn on Aug. 10.
Lahaina Inn’s ten guest rooms and two suites feature charming decor, including handcrafted furnishings, hardwood floors and plantation home-inspired wooden rockers on the lanais.
The 127 Lahainaluna Road property was recently refurbished.
Gary Hogan, HH&R president, said, “We are pleased to be affiliated with this iconic hotel. This is a wonderful partnership between renowned, full-service Royal Lahaina Resort on Kaanapali Beach and the quaint, historic Lahaina Inn, which is owned by celebrated Lahaina Grill owner Jurg Munch.
“The property has a true Hawaiian appeal coupled with modern amenities and first-class, personal service. It’s a new kind of vacation experience right in the heart of vibrant Lahaina Town.”
Guests at the Lahaina Inn will also have access to the many amenities at the full-service Royal Lahaina Resort, including swimming pools, beach and water activities, restaurants and lounges, tennis and nearby golf.
Scheduled shuttle service to the Royal Lahaina will be available during the day to guests staying at the Inn.
The original, two-story structure that now houses the Lahaina Inn was built in 1938 as a general merchandise store. Early in 1960, hotel rooms were added to the building’s second floor.
In the late 1990s, the property was totally restored over a two-year period, incorporating authentic antique furnishings, turn-of-the-century décor and modern amenities.
