Central Pacific Bank supports the Lahainaluna High School Foundation

LAHAINA — Central Pacific Bank’s Alvin T. Imada, senior vice president and neighbor island regional manager, and Isaac Pena-Parrilla, Lahaina Branch manager, joined forces in generating a $1,000 check to fund, for the second year in a row, a graduating Lahainaluna senior scholarship to be awarded in May 2010.

Located in the Lahaina Gateway Center, the Lahaina Branch opened in February 2009 and is staffed with friendly employees — many of them Lahainaluna graduates — who all reside on the West Side.

“It is with great pleasure that Central Pacific Bank supports the Lahainaluna High School Foundation, which provides valuable benefits to our local community,” said Imada.

Foundation Scholarship Committee Chair Andrew Kutsunai said, “We are grateful for the support that the folks at Central Pacific Bank have honored us with in these difficult economic times. Their leadership in making this contribution expresses their belief in the future of our community by investing in our youth.”

“Lahainaluna holds a special place in the hearts of community members and graduates. As the oldest high school west of the Missouri River, it is the one aspect of Lahaina’s history that has survived intact. There is no other place like it. We thank Central Pacific Bank for continuing their involvement as part of our school community,” noted Leslie Hiraga of the foundation.
