Maui SBDC moves to new offices

KIHEI — The Hawaii Small Business Development Center Network’s Maui Office has relocated to the Maui Research & Technology Park in Park Plaza and welcomed new staff members in Fred Rickert and Christine Pawliuk. 

Rickert, MBA, has over 30 years of business experience in leadership and consulting roles for financial and strategic planning. Most recently, he served as vice president and treasurer for Maui Land and Pineapple Company. 

Earlier in his career, he served as chief financial officer for the Port of Oakland, California, and also as a senior financial executive for such international shipping companies as American President Lines and Sea-Land. 

As the new senior business consultant for the Maui Office of the Small Business Development Center, his background in economic development, business management and business finance will help Maui entrepreneurs and small business owners.

The Hawaii Business Research Library co-located with the Maui SBDC has refocused its program from a documents repository to business research services, and further enhanced the program with contemporary e-tools, resources and technology.

Pawliuk has joined the SBDC team as the research librarian. Previously, she served as the business librarian at Hawaii Pacific University.
