LAHAINA — 5A Rent-A-Space in Honokowai recently donated 250 new stadium seat cushions, valued at more than $1,000, to the Lahainaluna High School Athletic Program.
The cushions will be available for a small donation at Lahainaluna games. All money raised will support Lahainaluna sports.
“We’ve earmarked the proceeds to help defray some of the travel expenses of our girls basketball team,” said Lahainaluna Athletic Director Scott
Soldwisch.
“The girls have been MIL champions the past five years, so they travel quite a bit. We’re basically fund-raising year-round, and we appreciate all the support we receive.”
5A Manager Larry Roussel said, “5A has been a locally owned business in this West Side community for more than 20 years. With all the economic cutbacks
being announced, particularly in the public schools, we wanted to find a way to help. By getting a cushion, everyone can show support of the athletic
programs plus be more comfortable at games.”
