By Staff | Jul 6, 2017

Feather art by Ellen Levinsky will be featured in Lahaina Arts Society’s Old Jail Gallery from July 4 through Aug. 1. Using natural feathers from parrots, peacocks and pheasants, she creates colorful pictures and jewelry. Levinsky recycles her junk mail to create textured paper for her art. There will be a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 14. Levinsky will be demonstrating in the gallery on Tuesdays in July from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, phone the gallery at 661-0111.

LAHAINA – Lahaina Arts Association will host the second annual Mahalo Show Fundraiser from July 3-30.

Hawaii artists are invited to submit artwork for a chance to win several artist awards and prizes. Artwork will be exhibited and available for sale at the Banyan Tree Gallery of Lahaina Arts Society in Lahaina to support free keiki art programs in Maui County.

There will be a reception on Friday, July 14, from 6 to 8 p.m.

In 2016, the Mahalo Show featured 29 artists and 41 artwork submissions to raise funds to open a free art class for homeless children in Wailuku. Artists were recognized with eight awards for outstanding works.
