LAC invites the community to help raise funds for the biggest ever Fourth of July fireworks spectacular in Lahaina

By Staff | May 18, 2017

Activities throughout Front Street on July 4 will include magicians, stilt walkers, face painters and many music venues.

LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee still needs the Maui community to help in the fundraising effort for the 2017 fireworks display celebrating the Fourth of July in Lahaina. The fundraising goal is $50,000 for the event, and currently the committee is hard at work to raise these funds.

“We urge local businesses to support by donating and also decorating their storefronts with flags and buntings. Activities throughout Front Street this year include magicians, stilt walkers and face painters. There will be many music venues during the day,” said Lynn Donovan, LAC executive director.

Fundraising progress can be tracked on the two goal banners that are located in Lahaina Town at Shaw Street and Lahainaluna Road on Honoapiilani Highway.

LahainaTown Action Committee has increased the length of the fireworks show to 15 minutes and has added an app. This app will allow everyone to download the music to the fireworks show. Donors will be able to display their logos on the app banner. “It will take the community and businesses support to help make this happen,” Donovan added.

Donations for the July 4 event can be made online at www.visitlahaina.com. Sponsors can also call the LahainaTown Action Committee at (808) 667-9175 or mail a check to 648 Wharf St., Lahaina, HI 96761.
