LahainaTown Action Committee planning a bigger Fourth of July fireworks display

By Staff | Apr 27, 2017

This year, LahainaTown Action Committee plans to extend the fireworks display to 15 minutes and launch a mobile app.

LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee seeks the community’s support to stage a bigger Fourth of July celebration in Lahaina this year.

“We would like to say a big mahalo for helping make 2016’s Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration a huge success. It was a spectacular event, and we saw the true aloha spirit come forward. We are asking for your help once again to help us produce the biggest Lahaina Fourth of July event to date. We are extending the display to 15 minutes. We are also adding a mobile app, which will have the music for the firework display and links to share the event on social media,” LAC reported last week

“Businesses that are donating will have their logos on the apps banner. It is a major economic event for West Maui and Lahaina businesses. Lahaina is the place to be for Maui’s only aerial fireworks display. It is an event residents and visitors have come to expect and enjoy.

“Our first and most challenging step in making the 2017 event a reality is to raise the money needed for the fireworks. A Fourth of July celebration would not be the same without a spectacular fireworks display. The cost of the fireworks alone is $40,000, plus there are other event expenses. Last year, with the generosity of the community and business leaders such as yourself, the event was successful with an estimated 20,000 participants. All donations will be publically acknowledged.”

Donations for the Fourth of July can be made online at www.visitlahaina.com or by calling LAC at 667-9175. Checks can be mailed to 648 Wharf St., Lahaina, HI 96761.
