KAHULUI – University of Hawaii Maui College Culinary Arts Garde Manger students will present a buffet event on Thursday, April 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. highlighting the flavors of four international festivals.

Tasting stations featuring foods representative of Chinese New Year, Obon, Mardi Gras, and Dia de los Muertes will line the balcony of the Pa’ina Building and The Leis Family Class Act Restaurant.

In addition to the students’ buffets, there will be a dessert table.

Garde Manger Chef Instructor Craig Omori said, “I think guests should prepare themselves for a truly memorable experience. This project is a great opportunity for our advanced students to showcase their abilities and passion for cooking. From what I’ve seen so far this semester, this particular class has some of the most talented students that have ever come through our culinary program.”

The price is $75 per person; tickets may be purchased on OpenTable. There are also 12 very special seats at two chef’s tables inside the Skills Kitchen available for $125 per person. There will be a cash bar serving beer and wine. All proceeds support the UHMC Culinary Arts Program. Reservations are required via OpenTable or by calling (808) 984-3280.
