Local authors to sign books at Second Friday Town Party

By Staff | Mar 9, 2017

LAHAINA – An inaugural collection of 33 stories and poems by eight local authors, all members of Maui Writers Ink, will be featured at Lahaina’s Second Friday Town Party on March 10 beginning at 5 p.m. in Campbell Park, with many of the authors present to sign your purchases.

Thereafter, the book will be available for purchase at the Lahaina Visitor Center at the Old Lahaina Courthouse, Maui Friends of the Library Bookstores at the Wharf Cinema Center in Lahaina and Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului, as well as from the authors themselves.

Elaine Gallant has authored “The 5th C – a CIA Novel;” Howard Fields will have his two books, “Tommy’s War” and “First Taken, Last Released;” and Oliver Gold also has two books: “Maui on the Rocks” and “Maui Leis and Lies.” All three authors will be on hand to meet the public and autograph their purchases, along with the authors of “Maui Writers Ink – Short Stories and Poems.”

As a special treat, Gold will swap hats to become Captain Billy Bones, entertaining visitors with his original compositions on guitar and ukulele from 7 to 8 p.m. He will have his CDs available for purchase along with his books on the Local Authors Book Table.
