LAHAINA – Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) last week announced its new West Maui studio space at Kid Zone at 147 Kupuohi St., Unit G-4, in Lahaina. All West Maui MAPA classes and programs now operate within this studio.

To celebrate, MAPA is offering a new studio discount for West Maui students. New students who have never taken any classes before with MAPA will receive 50 percent off any classes. For returning students, MAPA will take 50 percent off an additional class on the original schedule (this discount does not apply to classes students are already enrolled in – only to additional classes). No other discounts apply; not applicable toward registration or costume fee. This discount only runs through Feb. 3, or when the classes reach capacity.

Classes offered at the Lahaina location include: Beginning Hip Hop (ages 5-7) with instructor Bethany Verdusco on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.; Hip Hop I (ages 8-11) with Verdusco on Mondays from 4:15 to 5 p.m.; Pre-Ballet (ages 3-4) with instructor Susie Bortz on Wednesdays from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m.; Beginning Ballet I (ages 6-8) with Bortz from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays; Ballet I/II (ages 9-12) with Bortz from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursdays; Beginning Tap (ages 5-9) with Bortz from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays; and Beginning Ballet I (ages 5-6) with Bortz from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Fridays.

MAPA’s spring dance semester is special, as classes culminate in performances at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
