Thousands of people to celebrate Halloween in Lahaina

The annual Halloween in Lahaina Keiki Parade is one of the largest Halloween celebrations in the Pacific. The popular event is coordinated by Lahaina Rotary Clubs, Soroptimist International of West Maui, the County of Maui and National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii.

LAHAINA – Halloween in Lahaina returns to world-famous Front Street on Monday, Oct. 31. Highlights include the 38th annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30 p.m.

Maui keiki are invited to come in costume and parade down Front Street to Banyan Tree Park. Come enjoy music by the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band.

All are invited to enter the Adult Costume Contest on Halloween night at Banyan Tree Park from 7 to 9 p.m., sponsored by Mala Ocean Tavern and Honu Seafood and Pizza.

Registration will be held from 6 to 8:45 p.m. at a storefront on Hotel Street at the Pioneer Inn. Winners announced at 9:30 p.m. must be present to win.

Angel O’Brien will be the emcee, and Deejay Chris will spin tunes from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to enter the Adult Costume Contest on Halloween night at Banyan Tree Park from 7 to 9 p.m., sponsored by Mala Ocean Tavern and Honu Seafood and Pizza.

Campbell Park will open at noon, selling the official Halloween in Lahaina T- Shirt. Ono grinds start at 4 p.m.

Deejay Zinn will celebrate Motown from 5 to 6:45 p.m., and ShaketownE will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Entertainment is sponsored by MegaVega Properties.

LahainaTown Action Committee and the county Office of Economic Development will host a family-friendly event for the residents and visitors of Maui.

To keep Halloween fun and safe for everyone, keep in mind that from Baker Street to Prison Street, Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.

The Lahaina Halloween Express will have shuttles departing from War Memorial parking lot and Kihei Aquatic Center. The cost is $7 each way; advance tickets are available at Kahului Shell Station Super Stop at 370 Dairy Road in Kahului, and Boss Frog’s Surf and Dive Shop at Dolphin Plaza at 2395 South Kihei Road.
