LahainaTown Action Committee invites community to help with Fourth of July fundraising
LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee invites the Maui community to take part in the fundraising effort for the 2016 fireworks display celebrating the Fourth of July in Lahaina. The fundraising goal is $50,000 for the event; currently, the committee is working hard to raise these funds.
“We urge local businesses to support by donating and also decorating their storefronts with flags and buntings. There will also be more activities throughout Front Street this year,” said Lynn Donovan, LAC executive director.
The deadline for company logos on the official Lahaina poster will be June 10, 2016.
Fundraising progress can be tracked on the two goal banners located in Lahaina Town at Shaw Street and Lahainaluna Road on Honoapiilani Highway.
The fireworks show was extended to 12 minutes in 2015. “We look forward to repeating it this year. It will take the community and businesses’ support to help make that happen,” Donovan said.
Donations for the Fourth of July event can be made by calling the Lahaina Visitor Center at (808) 667-9193 or by mail to LahainaTown Action Committee, 648 Wharf St., Lahaina, HI 96761.
