Fantasia Ball to have Hollywood theme
KAANAPALI – Imua Family Services began its journey helping children with polio in 1947. This year, the nonprofit is celebrating 69 years of growth and commitment to serving Maui County.
Imua Family Services will proudly present the fifth annual Fantasia Ball fundraiser on Saturday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the Monarchy Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Kaanapali.
This year, the Fantasia Ball is themed “Hollywood.” Guests will be welcomed to an elegant affair complete with red carpet entrance, 180-degree video opportunities, and a cocktail reception followed by a spectacular, chef-inspired dinner.
There will be a stunning program celebrating the lives of Maui’s keiki with Hollywood glamour-inspired dance and musical entertainment.
Presentations from Mayor Alan Arakawa and from the office of the governor of Hawaii are expected.
This year’s featured Fantasia performer is Hollywood actress and Broadway star Megan Hilty. She is best known for her two seasons as Ivy Lynn, the seasoned triple threat vying for the role of Marilyn Monroe in NBC’s musical drama “Smash.”
Hilty can currently be seen on season two of “Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce” and in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of “Noises Off.”
Entertainment will include unique performances from The Moonglow All-Star Orchestra, Jimmy Mac & the Kool Cats, a dance ensemble led by Director David Ward as well as several surprise performances over the course of the entire night.
When the clock strikes 10 p.m., the party doesn’t stop! Guests will be ushered into the official after-party – Fantasia on the Rocks – presented in partnership with Ocean Vodka and Next Level Entertainment.
With mega dance beats, award-winning deejays and a dance floor big enough for a dance troupe, it’s bound to be an all-out extravagant dance party!
Fantasia on the Rocks tickets are included with Fantasia Ball tickets, but they can be purchased separately for those who only want to experience the after-party for $30 in advance and $40 at the door.
With a fascinating turn into the world of social media, Imua Family Services has created an online event experience that will feature every detail of the event as it unfolds.
Community members who cannot attend, but want to follow the ball as the night unfurls, can follow Imua (@imuafamily) on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtags #imuaball and #imuafamily.
