Popular Maui musicians Mika and Keoni to perform at free Hawaiian Music Series concert in Lahaina
LAHAINA – Back by popular demand for another year are Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s monthly Hawaiian Music Series concerts. This month’s free event takes place on Thursday, Jan. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in front of the Baldwin Home Museum at the corner of Dickenson and Front streets in Lahaina.
Join Mika Villaren and Keoni Darisay for a laid-back evening of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian tunes accompanied by hula dancers.
Born and raised in Lahaina, Darisay was always surrounded by music at home when his dad, professional musician Arsenio Darisay, and friends would play piano, drums, guitar, ukulele, flute, saxophone and bass on weekends. He resides in Hana and leads the band ExposeJah.
Mika Villaren, who was also raised in Lahaina and graduated from Lahainaluna High School, is a talented multi-instrumentalist. He entertains at West Maui hotels and around the island in addition to performing with ExposeJah.
Limited seating is provided; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome.
