Patton Oswalt to perform Maui Comedy Festival show

KAHULUI – Recently named Stand-up Comedian of the Year at the 2015 Montreal Comedy Festival, Patton Oswalt will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.
Oswalt continues to find success in all areas of entertainment, from his Grammy-nominated comedy specials to his many memorable guest roles on his favorite TV shows (including “Parks and Recreation,” for which he received a TV Critics Choice Award).
As a comedian, he has shot five TV specials and four critically acclaimed albums, including his latest Grammy-nominated special “Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time.”
In addition to his recent guest roles on “Veep,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Battle Creek,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Justified,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Portlandia,” and “Burn Notice,” Oswalt has also voiced characters on “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers,” as well as the voice for Remy, the rat, in Pixar’s Oscar-winning “Ratatouille.”
Beth Stelling will open the show. Returning to Maui after last year’s Maui Comedy Festival, Stelling has appeared on Comedy Central’s “@midnight,” “The Meltdown Show with Jonah & Kumail,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Call with Carson Daly” on NBC, “The Pete Holmes Show,” “Chelsea Lately,” “Conan,” TruTV’s “How to Be a Grown Up,” “The UCB Show” and Showtime’s “Comedy of SXSW.”
