Kaleo Phillips & Friends to perform free Hawaiian Music Series concert

Lahaina native Kaleo Phillips has been a professional musician for 30 years.

LAHAINA – Versatile musicians Kaleo Phillips & Friends will perform at Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s free monthly Hawaiian Music Series concert on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in front of the Baldwin Home Museum at the corner of Dickenson and Front streets in Lahaina.

A Lahaina native, Phillips has been performing professionally for 30 years. He has played with a variety of Hawaiian music artists and toured with many bands across the globe.

Phillips formed the trio Pono with Josh Kahula and Pi’ilani Arias. They released a debut album, “Home of Mine,” in 2004; it was received with rave reviews.

Talented musicians Kaniela (Daniel) Querubin and Kana Pikini join Kaleo in his newest trio.

Limited seating is provided for kupuna; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome.

The current trio includes Kaleo Phillips, Kaniela (Daniel) Querubin (pictured) and Kana Pikini.

This ongoing Hawaiian Music Series program is supported by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the County of Maui Office of Economic Development.
