Grammy Award winners to perform at fifth Maui Jazz & Blues Festival

Russell Malone is a world-renowned swing and bebop jazz guitarist.

KAANAPALI – Grammy Award winners and music legends are coming to Maui to perform during the fifth annual Maui Jazz & Blues Festival on Sept. 10-13.

The 2015 lineup includes Grammy winner and jazz guitar legend Russell Malone, jazz saxophone great Donald Harrison and his Big Chief Congo Square Experience, three-time Grammy winner John Patitucci, the Grammy-nominated guitar duo Strunz & Farah, blues guitar legend Kenny Neal, The Iguanas, Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Benny Uyetake, the Zenshin Daiko Drummers, Jazz Alley TV Quartet and special guests.

The event begins with the Jazz & Blues Kickoff at Duke’s Beach House on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy food and drinks with live jazz and blues. Call 662-2900?for information.

Also on Sept. 10, Hula Grill Kaanapali in Whalers Village will host jazz and blues from 6 to 8 p.m. Call 667-6636?for reservations.

On Friday, Sept. 11, at the Four Seasons Wailea, enjoy?live jazz and blues from 6 to 9 p.m. at Duo Restaurant. Festival artists will offer a sneak peek. Call 874-2201 for reservations.

New York jazz guitarist John Patitucci has won three Grammy Awards.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, the fifth annual Maui Jazz & Blues Festival will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. oceanfront at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $50, VIP tickets in the first two rows are $100, and premium VIP tables for ten in the front row are available for $1,000. On Sunday, Sept. 13, the Sunday Jazz Brunch will be held at the Four Seasons Maui at Wailea from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 874-2201 for reservations.
