MAPA to offer spring break performing arts camps
WAILUKU – Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) will offer two spring break performing arts camps for elementary school students at its studios in downtown Wailuku.
Teaching artist Francis Tau’a will lead the Spring Break Drama Camp from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 12-16. Students ages 5-9 will make new friends while learning how to create characters, improvise and put on a short original play to share with family and friends on the last day. Tuition is $175.
Students in the popular Spring Break Dance Camp led by Rebecca Owen will learn dance skills in ballet, tap, hip hop, memorization, flexibility, coordination and teamwork. Geared for students ages 6-10, the dance camp will be held on March 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beginners are welcome. The camp will culminate in a performance for family and friends. Tuition for the dance camp is $175 for the week.
Both camps will be held at MAPA’s Main Studios at 2027 Main St. in Wailuku (enter from Market Street). Space is limited, so register early.
