Watch artists at work at new Kai Pua Artist Studio

By Staff | Dec 15, 2011

Anna Keay and John Lindquist recently launched Kai Pua Artist Studio and Gallery.

LAHAINA – Featuring the artwork of newly married owners Anna Keay and John Lindquist, Kai Pua Artist Studio and Gallery celebrated its opening on Dec. 9.

Located at 790 Front St., Kai Pua is a working studio, with resident artists creating glass sculptures, oil paintings and delicate jewelry in the gallery every day.

The owners noted, “In Hawaiian, ‘kai’ means ocean, and ‘pua’ means flower. We like to think our gallery is where the ocean meets the flowers…

“Amazing glass torched onsite becomes sea life in the hands of our talented owner/artist, John Lindquist, and his apprentices. The walls are graced with tropical flowers brought to life by owner/artist Anna Keay. Bridging the ocean and flowers is our jeweler, Debra Mack, creating intriguing baubles incorporating the jewels and stones of the earth. Dave Ryan uses the native woods of Hawaii in his exquisite furniture.”

The gallery is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Call 667-0500.
