Office open for 89th Maui Fair

By Staff | Aug 18, 2011

WAILUKU — The Maui Fair Administrative Office is open for inquiries and applications regarding booths, exhibit dates and general information.

Located in the parking lot of War Memorial Gymnasium, the office is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (call Lei Kihm at 242-2721 prior to visiting).

The 89th Maui Fair will open with the traditional parade on Thursday, Sept. 29, and continue with rides, food and entertainment through the evening of Sunday, Oct. 2.

For the convenience of fairgoers, pre-sale tickets will be available from Aug. 10 to Sept. 15 at all American Savings Bank locations on Maui and at the Maui Fair Administrative Office.

Pre-sale and Sunday adult tickets are $5 ($7 at the gate) and child tickets for keiki ages 5-11 are $2 ($3 at the gate). Keiki four years old and younger will be admitted free.

Groups interested in selling entrance tickets as a fund-raiser may contact Dancine Takahashi at 264-2687 for more information. Groups are able to earn $2 per adult ticket and $1 per child ticket sold.

The Maui Fair attracts locals and visitors to enjoy an alcohol-, smoke- and drug-free family event that features multicultural food, first-rate entertainment, E.K. Fernandez Fun Zone, plus horticulture, bonsai, livestock, homemaking, photo, art and educational exhibits and competitions.

The unique and innovative products in the Commercial Exhibitor and Hawaii Products & Services Tents — formerly known as the Better Living and Arts & Crafts Tents — as well as amazing student achievements in the annual Robo Tech Maui Expo & Competition continue to draw the young and old year after year.

The Maui Fair is the primary source of funding for many of Maui’s nonprofit and community organizations. It relies entirely on corporate or local business sponsorships, local donations and volunteers for support.

Corporate Sponsorship packets are available online for download at www.mauifair.com.
