Theater students ready to perform ‘Disney’s Camp Rock-The Musical’

KAANAPALI — Theatre Theatre Maui’s summer youth production of “Disney’s Camp Rock-The Musical” runs this week only in Kaanapali in the Haleakala Ballroom at The Westin Maui Resort and Spa.
This popular teen musical based on Disney Channel original movies is filled with rocking music and lively characters’ experiences during summer camp. Forty-six Maui youth will be performing onstage under the direction of Kristi Scott, supported by her instructional team of Vania Lee Jerome, Aly Cardinalli, Derek Nakagawa and Eric Peterson.
Cast members are Vanessa Aguilar, Albey Almeida, Adam Aquino, Krizzia Balan, Kamahie Baracuatro, Brandon Barreno, Anis Bel, Danielle Bergson, Rachel Bergson, Rory Delaney, Jessa Emmerich, Nikki Falk, Kalee Farberow, Angel Fraser, Sophia Fredy, U’ilani Gibbs, Logan Hanohano, Elizabeth James, JJ Jerome, Kyle Killett, Jessica Kingwell, Kiana Kirkman, Alana Koa, Lexie Leon, Lance Monaghan, Maria Mussa, Layla Nabavi, Ahtziri Orozco, Jair Orozco, Cassidy Otto, Alana Power, Starla Racine, Kainoa Reponte, Leilani Rosenthal, Ikaika Ross, Emma Scott, Hannah Sheveland, Maili Thompson, Aaliyah Times, Taylor Trout, Erin Tsue, Heidi Turner, Te’a Vannatta, Lara Watson, Brooke Whitehead and Lana Yoshino.
Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 17. All tickets are general admission, open seating, and may be purchased at the TTM box office outside the hotel’s ballroom one hour before each show. The cost is $10 adults for $5 for children under 12.
TTM Board President Penny Wakida emphasized, “our primary mission is to bring hands-on theatre experiences to our West Side community. We are so fortunate to have funding from the County of Maui and the generous community support of The Westin Maui Resort and Spa and Lahainaluna High School, among others. They really rock, helping make this program happen with classroom, rehearsal and performance space along with professional instruction. Mahalo to all.”
