Daughtry to play at the MACC

Headed by frontman Chris Daughtry, the band is touring internationally in support of their second album, “Leave This Town,” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts and has hit songs in “No Surprise,” “Life After You” and “September.”
KAHULUI — BAMP Project and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center present multi-platinum rock group Daughtry live on Maui on Friday, Feb. 18.
The all-ages show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.
Selling for $33 to $83, tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. via www.mauiarts.org and www.bampproject.com.
Frontman Chris Daughtry created the group in 2006 with band mates Joey Barnes (drums/piano), Josh Paul (bass) and guitarists Josh Steely and Brian Craddock.
Daughtry’s self-titled debut album produced mega hits like “Gone,” “It’s Not Over” (which reached to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts) and “Home,” which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The release sold more than four million copies worldwide, earning them the American Music Awards 2007 Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. They also won the Billboard Music Award for Top New Artist in 2007.
Daughtry made a number of memorable appearances, including performances on national television, NFL’s Super Bowl Tailgate Party, American Music Awards and the 2009 Country Music Awards.
