Burlesque classes offered in Lahaina

By Staff | Jan 27, 2011

LAHAINA — Are you tired of your current workout routine? Are you looking to add some spice to your life? Want to have some laughs and burn some calories?

Miss Honey Bunns of “Ooh La La Burlesque” is now offering burlesque dance classes in Lahaina.

Learn to strut your stuff in a positive, encouraging and fun atmosphere. Get in shape while you learn the fundamentals of burlesque dancing. After the basics, learn how to work a boa, peel a glove and other fun and exciting acts.

Burlesque does not equal “stripping.” A burlesque performer may remove no more than a glove or a stocking.

Classes are meant to be fun and have less to do with exotic dance and more to do with self-confidence, self-expression, freedom and personal power. It is a safe and encouraging place where women can be free to express their feminine, sensual side.

At the end of the four-week series, students will have a dance routine they can perform on their own personal stage. These classes are for all women — every age, size and ethnicity.

Classes begin Feb. 1 and continue for a four-week period at 178 Kupuohi St., A101-102, in Emerald Plaza. The fee is $60 for the series. Individual classes are $15.
