Maui Prep to host Paniolo Night benefit

Lahainaluna High School Music Performing Arts will hold a car wash and bake sale on Sunday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lahaina First Hawaiian Bank parking lot along Papalaua Street. To purchase pre-sale tickets, see Music Department students in the Concert Band (above), Concert Choir, Marching/Pep Band and Jazz Band. The cost is $5 for the car wash; the price will be $5 for cars and $7 for any large vehicles at the benefit. Proceeds will help fund future trips and band functions. NAPILI — Maui Preparatory Academy’s fifth annual Paniolo Night will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, from 4 to 9 p.m.

An all-you-can-eat BBQ Dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with brisket, pork butt sliders, spare ribs, BBQ chicken, mac and cheese, white rice, slaw, baked beans and double chocolate cake.

The benefit for Maui Prep eighth-graders’ trip to Boston and New York City will also feature paniolo and cowboy hat costumes, karaoke hosted by Vania Jerome, line dancing, pie eating contest, and music by Maui Prep’s 7AM Band and Deejays Kolohe & Kanikani.

Keiki will enjoy horseback rides, the Photo Booth, ring toss, fishing pond, bean bag toss, popcorn, cotton candy, shave ice, hat decorating, face painting and tattoos, bouncy castle and petting zoo. Scrip will be on sale at the event.

Tickets are $20 for attendees in grade five through adults and $10 for pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.

Tickets are available at Maui Prep’s Administration Office during school hours, or buy them from any Maui Prep eighth-grader.

Upon arrival at Paniolo Night, check in at the Welcome Table to receive your dinner wrist bands.
