‘LOL’ with Rita Rudner

Rudner
KAHULUI — The Maui Arts & Cultural Center announced that legendary comedian Rita Rudner will perform in the intimate setting of the McCoy Studio Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, as part of its “LOL@MACC“ series.
David Letterman, Johnny Carson, Bill Maher, Jay Leno, Bob Hope, George Burns, Conan O’Brien, Oprah Winfrey and Regis Philbin have all found Rita amusing, and she has appeared on all of their respective shows.
In 2003, Rita launched from Las Vegas her first syndicated daily TV show, “Ask Rita.” She also found time to help write the 2001 and 2003 Academy Award ceremonies with Steve Martin and the 2002 Oscars with Whoopi Goldberg. She appeared in “Comic Relief” on HBO in 2006.
Voted “Best Comedian in Las Vegas” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal for the last eight years, Rudner has become one of Sin City’s most beloved performers.
After ending a six-year run at New York-New York in 2006, during which she sold nearly a million tickets, Rudner began performing nightly in a larger theater at Harrah’s Las Vegas in October 2006. Now celebrating more than 2,000 witty performances in Las Vegas, her contract was recently extended to January 2012.
Tickets are $35; $65 VIP tickets include a premium seat and meeting the artist. Call 242-SHOW (7469) or visit www.mauiarts.org.
