By Staff | Sep 16, 2010

‘Ulalena blends traditional hula with modern dance and Hawaiian chant and instrumentation with acrobatic feats of strength and beauty. Rich costumes create fantastic images drawn from Hawaiian legend and history.

WAILEA — “Mythical Magical Maui,” the 2010 ‘Ohana Luau fund-raiser for Hale Makua Health Services, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.

Maui’s own ‘Ulalena cast members will donate their time and talents by performing short vignettes of the captivating story of Maui’s creation, from the first Polynesians to the early European explorers and finally to the present.

Now in its 22nd year, Hale Makua Health Services’ signature fund-raising event is known for its island hospitality, local entertainment, good fun and festive aloha spirit.

Guests will enjoy an “onolicious” Hawaiian buffet featuring a variety of fresh salads, lomi lomi salmon, mahimahi with lemon butter sauce and tropical fruit salsa, hulihuli chicken, kalua pork and a selection of desserts.

Tickets to this popular event are $65 for adults and $20 for keiki ages ten and under.

Tickets are available by calling 871-9283 or visiting www.halemakua.org. This year’s event will also include a silent auction and special room rate for attendees of $129 per night at the Wailea Beach Marriott.
