Fair Photo Salon welcomes entries

The 88th Maui County Fair will be “Celebrating Community” from Thursday, Sept. 30, through Sunday, Oct. 3.

WAILUKU — Entry forms for the 88th Maui County Fair Photo Salon Contest are now available to all shutterbugs eager to enter their most-prized photos.

The competition is open to all Hawaii residents and consists of three divisions: Youth, Open, and Expert. Only photos taken after Oct. 1, 2009 are eligible.

The contest has three categories: Monochrome/Black & White Prints, Color Prints, and Photo Art.

Divisions include: “Youth” open to State of Hawaii residents 18 years and younger; “Open” to all amateur photographers who are residents of the State of Hawaii; and “Expert” for professional photographers and recognized photo experts, including those who have won first place in any previous Maui County Fair. Panoramas up to 30 inches long (320 square inches) are now eligible.

Rules and entry forms will be available beginning Sept. 1 at the following locations during their regular hours of business: Dr. David Anzai’s Optometrist Office at 74 Lono Avenue, Suite 101, in Kahului (877-7858); Xinia Productions at 320 Ohukai St., Suite 108, in Kihei (874-5849); Lighthaus Camera at 143 Dickenson St., Suite 102A, in Lahaina (661-5155); and the Maui County Fair Administration Office in the War Memorial Gymnasium parking lot (242-2721).

Entry forms are available for download now at www.mauicountyfair.com. An entry fee of $3 per person must accompany all submissions.
