Maui ukulele sensation enjoying busy summer

By Staff | Aug 12, 2010

Derick Sebastian had an amazing “Major League” experience when he performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” and two “inning-intermission” showcases on Chase Field in June during an Arizona Diamondbacks’ game against the Atlanta Braves with more than 24,000 fans in attendance. “That experience was by far the biggest stage and best experience in my musical journey,” he said.

The last few months have been a wonderful roller coaster ride for local ukulele virtuoso Derick Sebastian.

Flying high off his Na Hoku Hanohano nomination for his first full-length ukulele instrumental album, “From His Heart,”  Sebastian performed live in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, where some of the top performers in the world hit the stage nightly.

He played for bigwig executives and artists from all over the world during the well-respected Music Strategies 2010 conference.

In addition, Sebastian was “more than honored” to be internationally selected as June’s “Artist of the Month” from Fishman, makers of acoustic transducers. (Visit www.fishman.com to read the featured article.)

And there’s more to come, Maui. For now, enjoy  Sebastian live during his regular Hula Grill gigs. For information, visit www.dericksebastian.com.
