Reiko Fukino to perform on Baldwin Home lawn

By Staff | Aug 5, 2010

Reiko Fukino served as music judge for Na Mele O Maui in 2008.

LAHAINA — Pack a picnic and join the crowd on the lawn of the Baldwin Home Museum for a free concert with Reiko Fukino on Thursday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This Lahaina Restoration Foundation event will be hosted by “Bruddah Poki” of Pacific Radio Group.

While Fukino performs at “Kanikapila with Poki,” the “Lei Ladies” of the Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club will string fresh flower lei under the shade of the kou trees on the museum lawn located on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets in the heart of historic Lahaina.

Fukino performs all genres of music with versatility in Hawaiian and contemporary styles. In 1999, she released her first CD entitled “Timeless Classics of Hawaii.”

“Kanakapila with Poki” — the Hawaiian Music Series in Lahaina — is coordinated by Lahaina Restoration Foundation and sponsored by the county Office of Economic Development and Hawaii Tourism Authority.
