Free shows slated in ‘A Little Summer Music, Please’
Ebb & Flow Arts’ free “A Little Summer Music, Please” festival begins on Saturday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Seabury Hall Performing Arts Studio with “Multimedia Plus.”
The show will feature original stage compositions — including digital projection of spontaneous drawing with recent technology — by Peter Swanzy, Michael Takemoto and Tony Walholm; multimedia experiments with audience participation; and visual images by Janet Davis and Frances Ku.
On Thursday, July 29, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Maui Music Conservatory, 275 Kaahumanu Avenue, C-23, Robert Pollock will discuss modern music and offer examples at the piano and by CD playback.
Works to be discussed and performed include Mario Davidovsky’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “Synchronisms #6” for piano and electronic sounds, and the music of Roger Sessions.
